Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has publicly thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a personal letter sent on the occasion of Haryana Day, and pledged the state’s 2.80 crore families to the national resolve of Viksit Bharat 2047.

In his message on 1 November 2026, Saini described the Prime Minister’s letter as affectionate and thanked him for his heartfelt attachment to Haryana. He credited Modi’s visionary leadership and the support of the central government for what he called unprecedented progress in the state across education, sports, infrastructure, farmer welfare, women’s empowerment and startups.

On behalf of the state’s families, Saini assured the Prime Minister that Haryana would continue to work with full commitment to fulfil the Viksit Bharat 2047 resolve, closing his message with “Jai Haryana, Jai Hind”. Viksit Bharat 2047 is the central government’s vision of making India a fully developed nation by the centenary of independence.

The Prime Minister had himself greeted the people of Haryana on Foundation Day, praising the state’s glorious history, remarkable valour and rich culture, and calling Haryana the pride of the nation. In his greeting, Modi highlighted the contributions of Haryana’s people across agriculture, sports, defence services, industry, education and startups, and wished prosperity for every resident on the occasion.

The exchange came on Haryana’s Diamond Jubilee, marking 60 years since the state was formed on 1 November 1966 under the Punjab Reorganisation Act, when the Hindi-speaking region was carved out of the former bilingual Punjab. The state-level celebrations were held at Kurukshetra, where President Droupadi Murmu attended as chief guest.

For the Haryana government, the Haryana Day exchange frames the state’s six-decade journey — from a newly formed state to one of the country’s leading states in agriculture, sports and industry — within the larger national development story, with the Chief Minister presenting the state’s progress as the result of the Centre-state partnership under Modi’s leadership.
