Rajasthan’s BJP government has rolled out a new Youth Policy and a new Employment Policy, presenting both as state-level expressions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on youth power and the party’s ‘double engine government’ model.

The Chief Minister’s Office announced the twin policies on Sunday 1 November 2026 under the hashtag ‘Aapno Agrani Rajasthan’ (Our Pioneering Rajasthan), framing them as pillars to align the state’s ambitions with national priorities on skilling and job creation.

The Youth Policy is aimed at aligning Rajasthan’s approach to youth education, skill development and empowerment with national priorities, building on the foundation of the National Youth Policy of 2014, while the Employment Policy is designed to boost job creation and employment opportunities in the state.

The announcement fits a broader youth push by the Bhajanlal Sharma government, which took office in December 2023. At the Jaipur Run for Unity on 31 October, the Chief Minister cited 1.93 lakh government appointments through 410 transparent examinations, recruitment under way for 1.18 lakh posts, and about 3.70 lakh young people given skill training.

The government has also pointed to the Yuva Sambal Yojana, under which financial assistance of Rs 1,643 crore has reached four lakh beneficiaries, and to its promise that the Rajasthan Administrative Service examination will now be held every year to end irregular exam cycles.

The detailed provisions, budget allocations, enrolment targets and job numbers of the two new policies have not yet been made fully public. The real test is implementation — the notifications, targets and delivery that follow the announcement.
