The Railway Recruitment Cell of North Western Railway, Jaipur, has opened online applications for 2008 Act Apprentice slots for the 2026-27 training year. The engagement is being made under the revised Notice No. 04/2026, dated 21 October 2026, which replaces the earlier notice issued on 1 October. Applications opened on 23 October and will close on 22 November 2026 at 11:59 pm, and candidates must apply online through the official portal, rrcjaipur.in.

The training slots are spread across the railway’s divisions and workshops in Ajmer, Bikaner, Jaipur and Jodhpur. The trades on offer include fitter, electrician, welder, carpenter, painter, mason, diesel mechanic, turner and machinist, electronics mechanic, COPA and refrigeration and air-conditioning, among others. Applicants should check the unit-wise and trade-wise tables in the revised notification before choosing, because they can apply for only one division or unit.

Eligibility is based on school and trade qualifications rather than a written test. Candidates must have passed Class 10 with at least 50 per cent marks and hold an Industrial Training Institute certificate in the relevant trade, recognised by NCVT or SCVT. Applicants must be between 15 and 24 years of age as on 22 November 2026. Selection will be made purely on merit, calculated from the average of the Class 10 and ITI marks, and there will be no written examination.

The application fee is Rs 100 for general, OBC and EWS candidates, while SC, ST, persons with benchmark disabilities and women candidates are exempt from the fee. Candidates need to register on the RRC Jaipur portal with their Aadhaar number, an active mobile number and a valid email address, fill in their details exactly as shown in their Class 10 certificate, and submit the form for their chosen unit before the deadline.

It is important for applicants to understand the nature of this engagement. This is apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961, and completing the training does not by itself create any right to a permanent job in the Railways. Candidates are therefore advised to read the full revised notification on rrcjaipur.in, confirm the trade and unit details for their qualification, and keep a copy of the submitted application for future reference.
