Chhattisgarh Mahtari Vandan Yojana: Amit Shah to Release Rs 632 Crore to 67 Lakh Women on November 3
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will release the 33rd instalment of the Chhattisgarh Mahtari Vandan Yojana on Tuesday, 3 November, at the closing ceremony of the Chhattisgarh Rajyotsav in Raipur. The release will put Rs 632.63 crore directly into the accounts of 67,33,502 women across the state.
The payment is the November instalment of the scheme and will go to women who have completed their e-KYC formalities. With this release, the total amount disbursed under Mahtari Vandan will cross Rs 21,350 crore. So far, Rs 20,717.87 crore has been paid through the first 32 instalments.
Mahtari Vandan Yojana was launched on 1 March 2024. Under the scheme, eligible women receive Rs 1,000 every month as a direct incentive. The money is transferred to their bank accounts, giving households a regular and predictable support for everyday expenses.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will also be present at the closing ceremony. The Rajyotsav is a three-day celebration that began on 1 November to mark Chhattisgarh Foundation Day. The closing event brings the state-level celebrations to an end, and the instalment release is one of its main programmes.
For beneficiaries, the timing matters. A monthly payment of Rs 1,000 may look small on its own, but over a year it adds up to Rs 12,000 for each woman. For families managing rising household costs, that support can help with food, health, education and other essential needs.
Officials have linked the payment to completed e-KYC records, which helps ensure that the money reaches the intended women. Beneficiaries are advised to keep their bank and e-KYC details updated so that future instalments are not delayed.
The 33rd instalment underlines how the scheme has now run for almost three years as a continuing monthly programme, rather than a one-time payment. The state government has presented it as a flagship welfare measure for women, and the Rajyotsav release gives it a high-profile platform on Foundation Day week.
