The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Haryana, pays Rs 3,200 every month to persons with disabilities under the Haryana Divyang Pension scheme. The rate has applied from 1 November 2025, and the money is sent by Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the beneficiary’s Aadhaar-linked bank account. The pension is for people whose disability is 60 per cent or more, certified by the competent medical authority, and who have lived in Haryana for at least three years.
Who is covered under the scheme
The scheme follows the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, and the Haryana Divyang Pension Rules, 2025, notified in the Haryana Gazette on 3 March 2025. It covers blindness and low vision, hearing impairment, locomotor disability, leprosy-cured persons, mental illness and mental retardation, and other disabilities recognised under the Act. People living with haemophilia, thalassemia and sickle cell anaemia are also covered, and for them there is no age limit тАФ even a child can qualify. The applicant must otherwise be 18 years or older. Below 60 per cent disability, no pension is payable under this scheme.
Eligibility and income limit
The applicant must be a domicile of Haryana and must have been residing in the state for the last three years. Annual income from all sources must not exceed the minimum wage for unskilled labour notified by the Labour Department, Haryana. Because that wage is revised from time to time, applicants should check the current rate on the pension portal before applying. For haemophilia, thalassemia and sickle cell anaemia, the income limit is Rs 3 lakh per year. The pension is meant for those who cannot sustain themselves through their own means, and a person can take only one social security pension at a time.
How much pension, and how it grew
The pension has risen in stages тАФ Rs 2,750 per month from 1 April 2023, Rs 3,000 from 1 January 2024, and Rs 3,200 from 1 November 2025. The November 2025 rise of Rs 200 applied to all of Haryana’s social security pensions, including the old-age, widow and Ladli pensions. At Rs 3,200 a month, a beneficiary receives Rs 38,400 in a year. Figures placed in the Haryana Assembly in February 2026 show about 31.43 lakh people in total receive a social security pension in the state. Once sanctioned, the pension is paid for life.
