Gujarat Metro Rail Recruitment 2026: 13 DGM Assistant Manager and Engineer Posts Apply by November 18
Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited (GMRC) has invited online applications for 13 posts of Deputy General Manager, Assistant Manager, Section Engineer and Engineer. Advertised as GMRCL/HR/RECT/Nov-2026/29 dated 3 November 2026, it covers civil safety, civil quality, machinery and plant, and signalling roles for the Ahmedabad and Surat metro projects. Applications are accepted online only, via the Careers section of gujaratmetrorail.com, and the last date for submission is 18 November 2026. The posts are offered on contract, deputation or post-superannuation basis for a minimum of three years, extendable up to five years on the basis of performance, and they are not permanent government appointments.
The thirteen vacancies are spread across eight designations. The split is: Deputy General Manager Civil-Safety 2 and Civil-QA/QC 1; Assistant Manager Civil-Safety 4 and Civil-QA/QC 1; Section Engineer Civil-Safety 2 and Civil-QA/QC 1; Engineer Senior Grade (Machinery and Plant) 1; and Engineer Junior Grade (Signalling) 1. Pay follows the revised Industrial Dearness Allowance scales, from Rs 70,000 to Rs 2,00,000 for Deputy General Manager down to Rs 30,000 to Rs 1,20,000 for Engineer Junior Grade, with Assistant Manager at Rs 50,000 to Rs 1,60,000, Section Engineer at Rs 40,000 to Rs 1,40,000 and Engineer Senior Grade at Rs 35,000 to Rs 1,10,000. Deputy General Manager posts on post-superannuation basis carry a consolidated pay of Rs 1,00,000 per month. Selected candidates are likely to be posted at Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat or any other GMRC project in Gujarat.
Age limits and experience are counted as on 3 November 2026. Civil safety posts require an engineering degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical engineering plus a minimum one-year full-time diploma in Industrial Safety, while quality assurance posts require a B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering. The Machinery and Plant and Signalling posts need a B.E. or B.Tech in the relevant Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation or Power Electronics disciplines. Experience ranges from two years for the Junior Grade Signalling Engineer to eight years for Deputy General Manager posts in government service, with longer totals for private-sector applicants. The maximum age is 45 years for Deputy General Manager on contract basis, 57 years on deputation and 62 years on post-superannuation basis, 35 years for Assistant Manager, and 32 years for Section Engineer and both Engineer posts. Preference goes to candidates with three years’ Gujarat work experience who know Gujarati.
Selection is by personal interview, followed by document verification and a medical examination as prescribed for the post. Shortlisted applicants receive interview call letters with the time, date and venue through their registered email, and document verification takes place before the interview, so candidates must carry original certificates.
