Haryana Police Vacancy 2026: 15,000 Posts Announced — When Will the Notification Come?

There is big news for lakhs of young people in Haryana waiting for a police job — Director General of Police (DGP) Ajay Singhal announced on 21 October 2026 in Panchkula that 15,000 police personnel will be recruited by March 2027, with 13,000 more recruitments between 2028 and 2030. The opportunity covers both Class 12 pass candidates (Constable) and graduates (Sub-Inspector). But one thing must be understood clearly — as of 7 November 2026, no new notification for this 15,000 recruitment has been issued, which means applications have not started yet. This page is a watch page: it will be updated here first as soon as a notification arrives.

Haryana Police currently has 25,631 posts vacant — about 30% of the sanctioned strength of 84,765. The biggest shortage is among Constables: 13,948 posts are vacant. The government has already given permission to fill 7,310 posts, and according to the DGP, the recruitment schedule for the next six months is ready.

Information Status (7 November 2026)
Total recruitment announced 15,000 posts — by March 2027 (DGP, 21 October 2026)
After that 13,000 posts — between 2028 and 2030; 28,000 posts in total by 2030
Posts vacant now 25,631 (of 84,765 sanctioned, ~30%)
New notification Not issued yet — applications have not started
Constable 5,500 recruitment Applications closed; physical tests done; written exam (Knowledge Test) date not announced yet
SI recruitment Notification expected soon — number of posts not announced yet

Full Schedule of the 15,000 Recruitment — What Did the DGP Say?

DGP Ajay Singhal has given the recruitment timeline twice — first on 28 September 2026 in Gurugram and then on 21 October 2026 at the Police Commemoration Day ceremony in Panchkula. Putting both statements together, the picture is:

Phase When How many posts
Recruited in 2026 January–October 2026 ~5,500 (including Constable recruitment Advt 01/2026)
Joining in November 2026 November 2026 ~4,000
By March 2027 December 2026–March 2027 ~6,000 more
Total by March 2027 — ~15,000
Between 2028–2030 Including posts falling vacant due to retirement ~13,000
Total target by 2030 — ~28,000
  • September 2026 statement: The DGP said around 20,000 personnel are planned to be recruited next year (2027), as about 26% of posts are vacant in the police. Around ₹1,300 crore will be spent on police modernisation and infrastructure over the next two years.
  • October 2026 statement: 15,000 recruitments by March 2027 and 13,000 more between 2028–2030 — a target to fill all vacant posts by 2030. Along with this, a ₹4,430 crore infrastructure overhaul (by 2030–31), 204 new posts for cybercrime (H4C) and the formation of an Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) were announced.
  • One more important point: The DGP also said recruitment will happen in phases, because training everyone at once is not possible — so notifications will also come in separate phases, not one single notification for 15,000 posts.

Please note: “15,000 recruitment” does not mean a single notification for 15,000 posts. HSSC will issue separate advertisements for Constable, SI, Head Constable and other posts. Every new advertisement will be added to this page.

How Many Posts Are Vacant? Rank-Wise Figures

In December 2025, the Haryana government told the Vidhan Sabha that 25,631 of the 84,765 sanctioned posts in the police department are vacant — about 30%. Of these, 79,063 are uniformed posts and 5,702 are non-uniformed; the vacancies include 23,189 uniformed and 2,442 non-uniformed posts.

Rank Sanctioned posts Vacant posts
Constable 51,059 13,948
Head Constable 13,597 6,872
Sub-Inspector (SI) 4,953 1,051
Inspector 1,309 142
DSP 357 70
Total (all ranks) 84,765 25,631
  • The government has already given permission to fill 7,310 posts, and the recruitment process through HSSC/HPSC has begun; proposals for 2,908 posts are under consideration with the government.
  • To handle the shortage, the department has engaged 11,052 Special Police Officers (SPOs) and 10,196 Home Guard volunteers.
  • The shortage of women police personnel is also large — the vacancy among women Constable posts was reported at around 32%, so women Constable posts will also be included in the upcoming recruitments (the 2026 Constable recruitment had 600 women GD posts).

Constable 5,500 Recruitment (Advt 01/2026) — Where Does It Stand?

The biggest police recruitment before the 15,000 announcement — 5,500 Constable posts (Advt 01/2026) — is still waiting for its written exam. Its current status:

Stage Date / status
Notification 1 January 2026 (HSSC Advt 01/2026)
Total posts 5,500 — Male GD 4,500 + Female GD 600 + Male GRP 400
Applications Started 11 January 2026; closed in March 2026
Eligibility Only CET Group-C qualified candidates could apply
PMT (Physical Measurement) Male: 20–29 April 2026; Female: from 8 June 2026
PST (Physical Screening) Male: 13–17 July 2026 (rescheduled to 18 July); Female: 20 July 2026; last-chance PST: 5–14 August 2026

Admit card 4–5 days before the exam, downloadable by login at adv012026.hryssc.com
  • As soon as the written exam date arrives, this page will be updated — HSSC usually issues a public notice a few days before the exam.
  • For this recruitment, qualifying CET Group-C was mandatory — no one could apply without a CET pass. The same rule is expected to apply to upcoming Constable recruitments.
  • Warning: Some websites and videos are quoting dates like “Constable written exam on 18–19 November” — HSSC has announced no such date. Do not trust any date without an official notice.

SI Recruitment — When Will the Notification Come?

  • The Sub-Inspector (SI) Recruitment 2026 notification has not been issued yet. HSSC is expected to release it soon (Testbook, updated 30 October 2026) — but neither a date nor the number of posts has been announced.
  • 1,051 SI posts are vacant, so the SI recruitment is considered an important part of the phased 15,000 plan.
  • Expected eligibility (as per the previous pattern — final confirmation only from the notification): Graduation from a recognised university; age 21–27 years (relaxation for reserved categories as per rules); CET Group-C qualified.
  • Salary: SI is in Pay Level-6 — starting basic pay ₹35,400 per month, plus allowances.
  • Advice for SI aspirants: keep your CET Group-C preparation going and your graduation degree ready; once the notification comes, the application window usually stays open for only 2–4 weeks.

Beware of Fake News

  • Haryana Police recruitment comes only on hssc.gov.in and haryanapolice.gov.in — do not trust “fill the form” links on WhatsApp, Telegram or YouTube.

  • HSSC never asks for money over phone or WhatsApp — the fee is paid online only, on the official portal.
  • Trust admit card and exam date information only from HSSC public notices.
