Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has given a Dhanteras gift to the villages of his own Assembly constituency. At a Diwali Milan function in Ladwa on Friday, the Chief Minister announced development works worth Rs 13.23 crore for 63 villages of the Ladwa Assembly constituency in Kurukshetra district. Addressing the gathering, he said Ladwa is not just an Assembly constituency for him, but his own home and family. His wife Suman Saini was also present at the function. The Chief Minister greeted the people on Dhanteras, Diwali, Govardhan Puja, Bhai Dooj and Chhath Puja, and thanked the party workers for their contribution.
At the same function, the Chief Minister distributed cheques totalling Rs 34.53 lakh to three gaushalas. The Shri Krishna Gaushala Samiti of Ladwa received a cheque of about Rs 7.34 lakh, the Akhand Gaushala of Mathana received about Rs 7.63 lakh, and the Mathana Govansh Dham and Research Institute received about Rs 19.56 lakh. Former minister Subhash Sudha, local BJP office-bearers, mothers and sisters, elderly people and party workers were present at the function. The money given to the gaushalas will be used for the care of cattle and for improving the facilities at the shelters.
The Chief Minister said the festival of Diwali carries five different messages and wished happiness and prosperity in every home. He said Haryana completed 60 glorious years on 1 November, and the state government is celebrating the diamond jubilee as a year of resolve for development. The gift of Rs 13.23 crore to the 63 villages of Ladwa will push forward development works in the villages. The Chief Minister said the government’s aim is to take development to every village, and work is being done with the same thinking.
Ladwa is Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s own Assembly constituency. He won from Ladwa in the Haryana Assembly election of October 2024. Since becoming Chief Minister, he has paid special attention to the development of his constituency and meets people directly in programmes such as the Diwali Milan. On the same day, the Chief Minister had transferred Rs 4,470.77 crore in a single click in Chandigarh to lakhs of beneficiaries and to panchayati raj institutions and municipal bodies across the state. This included the 13th instalment of the Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana, under which Rs 222.52 crore reached 10.59 lakh women, Rs 1,158 crore released to panchayats as the first and second instalments of the Rs 2,316 crore provision under the State Finance Commission, and Rs 1,727.80 crore released to municipalities. Employees and pensioners also received a Dhanteras gift, with dearness allowance and dearness relief raised by 3 per cent with effect from 1 July 2026, taking the rate from 60 per cent to 63 per cent. The Ladwa gift was announced on the same festive occasion when direct help reached beneficiaries across the state.
