The Bharatiya Janata Party has launched its Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy march campaign in Uttar Pradesh, taking its counter to the Opposition’s campaign over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls and the Election Commission to the streets of the state’s six organisational regions. The three-day programme runs from Tuesday, 3 November, to Thursday, 5 November 2026, with senior national and state leaders leading marches in different cities. The campaign follows similar marches already held in Haryana and Maharashtra, and it comes ahead of the crucial 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

On Tuesday, 3 November, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan leads the march in Lucknow, the centre of the Awadh region, while Union Minister and former BJP national president JP Nadda leads the march in Bareilly, the centre of the Braj region. In Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak and state BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary are expected to participate alongside Chouhan. In Bareilly, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary are expected to join Nadda. The Bareilly march covers a route of about two kilometres, with leaders interacting with the public and presenting the party’s response to the Opposition’s allegations.

The programme continues on Wednesday, 4 November, when BJP national president Nitin Nabin leads the march in Gorakhpur for the Gorakhpur region, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya leads the march in Prayagraj for the Kashi region, and Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak joins the march in Kanpur for the Kanpur-Bundelkhand region. On Thursday, 5 November, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath leads the march in Ghaziabad for the western region. Each march is expected to draw at least 25,000 party workers, indicating the scale of mobilisation the party intends ahead of the assembly polls.

The campaign is part of the BJP’s month-long Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao programme, which the party says is aimed at exposing what it calls the Opposition’s misconceptions about the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls and its alleged regime-change agenda. BJP president Nitin Nabin had led a similar march in Rohtak, Haryana, on Sunday, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah led a march in Hyderabad on Monday, where he challenged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to debate the issue in Parliament and said the government was ready to convene a special session for the discussion.

Alongside the marches, the party is also organising almost 200 Yuva Sammelans, or youth meetings, and community feasts with farmers across Uttar Pradesh. Party leaders say the outreach is designed to take the party’s message to every household and to strengthen its organisation in all six regions before the 2027 elections. The state BJP finalised the programme at its recent state executive committee meeting in Lucknow, and a detailed calendar of visits by top leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, is also being prepared for the state.
