UPSSSC PET Answer Key 2026 Out: Download Shift-Wise PDFs, Check Score Before November 8
The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has released the provisional answer key for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2026 on 2 November 2026. The examination, advertised as Advertisement No. 16-Exam/2026, was held on 25 October, 30 October and 1 November 2026, with two shifts each day, at centres across 60 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Candidates who appeared in any of these shifts can now check the official answers for their own shift and estimate their scores before the next stage of the recruitment process begins.
The answer keys have been published date-wise and shift-wise for all master sets on the official website, upsssc.gov.in. To download the correct key, candidates should open the official website, look for the PET 2026 answer key section, select their examination date and shift, and open the PDF for their master set. It is important to match the shift and set carefully, because the order of questions can differ between sets, and checking the wrong set can give a misleading score. Candidates should download the PDF and also save a copy of their response sheet, so that they can compare the two side by side without depending on the website later.
The marking scheme for PET 2026 is straightforward. One mark is awarded for every correct answer, while 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong answer. No marks are given or deducted for questions left unanswered. To estimate a score, candidates can count their correct answers, subtract one quarter mark for each wrong answer, and leave unanswered questions out of the calculation. This gives a realistic expected score, although the final result will depend on the final answer key and the commission’s normalisation or scoring process, where applicable.
Candidates who believe that an answer in the provisional key is wrong can follow the official objection procedure given on the UPSSSC website. The answer keys remain available until 8 November 2026, so objections and downloads should both be completed before that window closes. Candidates should check the official notice for the exact objection steps, because reports about the procedure have differed, and no fee figure should be assumed without confirmation from the notice itself. A provisional key can change after objections are examined, and the final key will follow after that process is complete.
PET is the gateway eligibility test for Group B and Group C posts in Uttar Pradesh government departments, so this answer key matters far beyond a single examination. A strong PET score can open the door to many later recruitments, while a borderline score helps candidates plan which posts to target next. Candidates should therefore download and save their shift’s PDF well before 8 November, keep their admit card and response details safe, and watch the UPSSSC website regularly for the final key, result and further instructions.
