UP Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2026: 12405 Posts, Apply by November 4
The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), Prayagraj, has extended the last date to apply for 12,405 Assistant Teacher posts to 4 November 2026. The recruitment, issued under Advertisement No. 05/2026, covers Assistant Teacher (Primary) and Attached Primary posts in Uttar Pradesh. Candidates who have not yet submitted their forms, or who were waiting for a final chance, should treat 4 November as the closing date, because the commission has already moved the deadline once and no further extension has been announced.
Of the total vacancies, 11,508 posts are in urban primary schools run under the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council, while 897 posts are in affiliated non-government aided primary schools for boys and girls. Together, the two groups make up the full 12,405 posts. The posts are spread across primary schools in the state, and the recruitment is intended to strengthen classroom teaching at the primary level, where a single teacher often handles several subjects and large classes.
Online applications opened on 16 September 2026. The original closing date was 28 October, but it was extended to 4 November following an Allahabad High Court order dated 24 October 2026 and a letter from the Secondary Education Department dated 27 October. The fee must also be paid by 4 November. After submission, candidates will get a correction window until 7 November 2026 to fix errors in their application forms. The written examination is scheduled for 3 and 4 December 2026.
Applications must be submitted only through the official website, upessc.up.gov.in. Before applying, candidates should read the official notification carefully for eligibility, age limit, reservation rules and the selection process, and confirm every detail there, because eligibility can vary by post and category. Applicants should keep a copy of the submitted form, the fee receipt and the correction acknowledgement safe until the examination is over. Candidates are advised to complete the form well before the final evening, when the portal may slow down, and to check the website regularly for admit card and exam centre information. For thousands of trained teachers in Uttar Pradesh, this is a direct route into government and aided primary schools, and the correction window is especially valuable for candidates who submitted in a hurry and need to correct a spelling, photograph or category detail before the exam.
While preparing for the December examination, candidates should revise the core primary teaching areas, including child development and pedagogy, language, mathematics and environmental studies, and practise previous years’ questions wherever they are available. A steady revision plan, regular mock practice and careful time management in the examination hall can make a real difference, especially for candidates who are also working or studying at the same time.
