Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will visit Chhattisgarh on Tuesday, November 3, for three engagements in Raipur, capped by the closing ceremony of the state’s three-day Rajyotsav celebrations. The Rajyotsav, which began on November 1 to mark Chhattisgarh’s foundation day, concludes at the Rajyotsav Ground in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, where Shah will attend the closing ceremony as chief guest in the evening. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will preside over the concluding programme, which includes the Rajya Alankaran ceremony honouring people from the state who have made outstanding contributions in different fields. Shah will begin his engagements at 2.40 pm by inaugurating Artemis Shanti Hospital on Mandi Road in Pandri, Raipur, in a boost to the health sector in the state capital. Later, at 4.30 pm, he will inaugurate the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Park (People One) in Sector 16 of Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. During the visit he is also scheduled to release the next instalment of the state government’s Mahtari Vandan Yojana for women beneficiaries. The three-day Rajyotsav marks the 26th foundation day of Chhattisgarh, which was carved out of Madhya Pradesh on November 1, 2000. This year’s theme is “Sashakt Nari, Yuva Udaan”, centred on women’s empowerment and opportunities for young people. Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya was the chief guest at the inauguration on November 1, and Governor Ramen Deka presided over the programmes on November 2. The festival has showcased Chhattisgarh’s cultural heritage, folk traditions, handicrafts and development work through exhibitions, cultural performances and a dedicated Shilpgram craft village. The final evening will feature a performance by Padma Shri Pandwani singer Usha Barle along with songs by playback singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya.
