UP Assistant Teacher PRT Recruitment 2026: 12405 Posts Application Deadline Extended to November 4
The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission has extended the application deadline for its Assistant Teacher primary recruitment to November 4, 2026. Candidates applying for the Assistant Teacher (Associated Primary) posts under Advertisement Number 05/2026, who earlier had until October 28, now get additional time to complete their applications. The recruitment drive covers 12,405 Assistant Teacher vacancies in Uttar Pradesh. Of these, 11,508 posts are for Assistant Teacher (Urban) positions in Parishadiya schools under the Basic Education Department, while 897 posts are for Assistant Teacher (Attached Primary) positions in primary sections attached to non-government aided secondary schools. The extension follows a commission notice dated October 28, 2026, issued after an Allahabad High Court order of October 24 and a letter from the Secondary Education Department dated October 27. The revised notification also adds two eligible qualifications for applicants: a two-year Diploma in Education in Special Education approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India, and a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education degree. Candidates holding either of the newly added qualifications should check the detailed eligibility conditions in the advertisement and the latest notice before applying. The correction window for submitted applications will remain open until November 7, 2026. The written examination will be held as scheduled on December 3 and 4, 2026. Applications are accepted online only through the commission’s official website, upessc.up.gov.in, and candidates are advised to read the detailed notification carefully before submitting their forms, since applications through any other mode will not be accepted. The posts carry Level-6 pay of Rs 35,400 to Rs 1,12,400 per month. With more than twelve thousand primary teaching posts on offer, the drive is one of the largest teacher recruitments in Uttar Pradesh this year, and the extended deadline gives newly eligible candidates a final chance to apply.
