UP TGT Recruitment 2026: 17735 Assistant Teacher Posts Apply by November 23

The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), Prayagraj, has opened applications for 17,735 Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) posts in non-government aided secondary schools across Uttar Pradesh. The recruitment, advertised as Advertisement Number 07/2026 on October 23, 2026, is for Assistant Teacher posts at graduate pay scale, teaching classes 6 to 10 across 17 subjects. Online registration began on October 24, 2026, through the commission’s official portal, and candidates must first complete the mandatory One Time Registration (OTR) before filling the main form. The last date to submit the application and pay the fee is November 23, 2026, and corrections to submitted forms will be allowed until November 26, 2026. Of the total vacancies, 16,193 are for boys’ schools and 1,542 are for girls’ schools. The largest subject-wise shares are Hindi with 2,791 posts, English with 2,517, Science with 2,493, Social Science with 2,482 and Mathematics with 2,349 posts, with the remaining vacancies spread across the other subjects. For eligibility, candidates need a bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject along with a B.Ed. degree from an NCTE-recognised course, and a pass in the Uttar Pradesh or central Teacher Eligibility Test for the upper primary level. Physical Education posts require a B.P.Ed. or B.P.E. instead of B.Ed. The age limit is 21 to 62 years as on July 1, 2026, and the pay is at Level 7, from Rs 44,900 to Rs 1,42,400 per month. Selection will be made purely on the merit of a 360-mark written examination, with no interview. The written examination is scheduled for December 23 and 24, 2026. The application fee is Rs 1,000 for General, OBC and EWS candidates, Rs 500 for SC and ST candidates, and Rs 300 for persons with disabilities. Candidates should apply only through upessc.up.gov.in and check the detailed notification before submitting, since the commission has said the vacancy count may change.
