Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), a Maharatna public sector undertaking of the Government of India, has invited online applications for 660 Artisan Grade IV posts under Advertisement No. 01/2026, titled Artisan Recruitment 2027. The vacancies are spread across nine BHEL manufacturing units in the country, including Haridwar, Bhopal, Jhansi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Ranipet, Visakhapatnam and Tiruchirappalli, and cover seven trades for ITI-qualified candidates.

The largest share of posts is for Fitter, with 278 vacancies, followed by Welder with 104, Machinist with 101, Electrician with 90, Turner with 52, Electronics Mechanic with 23 and Foundryman with 12. The number of vacancies is tentative and may change after further assessment by the company, so candidates should check the detailed notification before applying.

To be eligible, an applicant must have passed Class 10 and hold a National Trade Certificate (ITI) along with a National Apprenticeship Certificate in the relevant trade. One important condition in the notification is that a candidate can apply for only one manufacturing unit and only one trade, because the computer-based examination for all trades will be held on the same day. Applicants should therefore choose their unit and trade carefully before submitting the form.

The online application window opened on 21 October 2026 at 10 am and will close on 18 November 2026 at 11:45 pm. Applications can be submitted only online, through the BHEL careers portal at careers.bhel.in. The last date for fee payment is also 18 November 2026. Candidates are advised to read the detailed notification on the portal, keep their certificates and apprenticeship documents ready, and complete the form well before the deadline to avoid last-minute problems.

Selection will be through a computer-based test, which is tentatively scheduled for 11 December 2026. The exact date, admit card details and further instructions will be published on the BHEL careers portal. Selected candidates will be appointed as Artisan Grade IV after training, in the trade and unit they applied for.

This is a major opportunity for ITI pass-outs looking for a stable government-sector career in one of India’s largest engineering and manufacturing companies, with openings in workshops and plants across several states.
