Haryana Sirsa New Postal Division from November 1: 301 Post Offices of Sirsa and Fatehabad under One Division
Haryana has a new postal division. The Department of Posts has created the Sirsa postal division, effective 1 November 2026, bringing 301 post offices of Sirsa and Fatehabad districts under a single division headquartered at Sirsa. The new division has been formed by bifurcating the earlier Hisar division, under which both districts previously fell.
The new division comprises one head post office, 34 sub post offices and 266 branch post offices, a total of 301 offices across the two districts. Its superintendent took charge at Sirsa on 1 November, giving the division its own administrative headquarters in the district itself. Hisar and Hansi areas remain under the Hisar division after the restructuring.
The approval for the new division was issued by the Department of Posts in October, as part of a restructuring of the Haryana Postal Circle aimed at making administration more effective, improving expense coverage and reviewing the performance of administrative units after one year. The expenditure for the new arrangement is to be met from existing funds.
The direct benefit for residents is local access. People in Sirsa and Fatehabad will no longer need to travel to Hisar for division-level postal administration and grievance work, since the divisional headquarters is now in Sirsa itself. Local supervision should also speed up the handling of problems at rural branch post offices, which form the bulk of the new division.
The restructuring strengthens the postal network in two of Haryana’s western districts at a time when post offices continue to serve as a key point of contact for savings, mail and government services in villages and small towns. Residents and post office staff should now deal with the Sirsa division for administrative matters relating to the 301 offices under it.
