Delhi DTU Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026: 219 Posts Across 24 Disciplines, Apply by December 7
Delhi Technological University (DTU) has invited online applications for 219 Assistant Professor posts across 24 disciplines under Advertisement No. 04/2026, dated 22 October 2026. The recruitment covers regular posts as well as backlog vacancies and includes a special recruitment drive for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). Online applications opened on 23 October 2026 at 11 am through the university website dtu.ac.in, and the last date to submit the form online is 7 December 2026 at 5 pm. Candidates interested in a faculty career in Delhi’s well-known technological university should complete the form well before the deadline, since late applications are not accepted.
Of the 219 posts, the largest share is in Computer Science and Engineering with 36 vacancies, followed by other engineering, science, management, humanities and design disciplines. The category-wise break-up reported in the notification is 62 posts for the Unreserved category, 80 for Other Backward Classes, 27 for Scheduled Castes, 21 for Scheduled Tribes and 29 for Economically Weaker Sections. Seventeen posts identified for PwBD candidates are included within the total of 219 and are not additional to it. The university has stated that the vacancies are provisional and may change according to its requirements, so applicants should check the discipline-wise position in the detailed advertisement before applying.
Eligibility is discipline-specific, and applicants must read the recruitment rules for their own subject alongside the advertisement. Qualifications, relevant branches and experience requirements differ from one discipline to another, and the notification directs candidates to the annexures that set out the rules for all 24 disciplines. Eligibility is assessed as on the online closing date, 7 December 2026. Applicants must be Indian citizens, and notably, the notification prescribes no upper age limit for appointment as Assistant Professor. The reported pay scale is Academic Level 10, from Rs 57,700 to Rs 1,82,400 per month, plus allowances as admissible, though candidates should confirm the exact pay and service conditions from the official notice for their discipline.
The application fee is Rs 2,000 for Unreserved and OBC candidates and Rs 1,000 for eligible EWS, SC and ST candidates, while PwBD candidates are exempt from the fee. Applications are accepted online only through the DTU website, and candidates need a valid email address and mobile number to register. After filling in personal, academic and experience details, applicants must pay the fee online and submit the form before 5 pm on 7 December 2026. Only candidates who are later notified in the consideration zone will be asked to send a signed printout of the application along with self-attested evidence to the university’s Recruitment Cell, and the receipt deadline for that stage will be announced separately.
This is one of the largest faculty recruitments announced by a Delhi government university this year, and it is open to candidates across engineering, applied sciences, management, economics, English and design. Because the drive combines regular posts, backlog vacancies and a PwBD special drive, it offers an opportunity to a wide range of qualified teachers and researchers. Applicants are advised to download the detailed advertisement and the recruitment rules for their discipline from dtu.ac.in, verify every eligibility condition carefully, and keep a copy of the submitted form and fee receipt for future reference.
