The Central Government’s Pradhan Mantri Vikas Karyakram (PM VIKAS) scheme gives free skill training and career support to youth from minority communities. It began in December 2022, replacing the earlier Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Ko Kaam Karyakram (PMKKK) — and 5 earlier schemes were merged into one: Seekho Aur Kamao, USTTAD, Hamari Dharohar, Nai Roshni and Nai Manzil.

Who is eligible

The scheme is for youth aged 18 to 45 from the 6 notified minority communities — Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain and Parsi. Training is given through 59 empanelled Implementing Agencies (PIAs). There is no single Central online form for this scheme — enrolment happens through a PIA or the state.

Which areas are covered

PM VIKAS training covers hand skills (skilled crafts, handicrafts), digital (AI/ML, IoT, web development, cyber security) and service sectors (health, hospitality) — training of 6 to 8 months, along with an Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) and job placement support. It also continues the traditions of USTTAD (traditional craft skills) and Hamari Dharohar (culture).

What you get — and what you do not

The scheme includes skill training, an Entrepreneurship Development Programme and job placement support. A claim of a ₹3,000 monthly stipend is not officially confirmed — so no such amount is written here as a benefit.
