New Delhi. Bharatiya Janata Party national president Nitin Nabin will lead two Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy padyatras on Monday, 2 November, one in Bihar and one in West Bengal, as part of the party’s nationwide campaign against what it describes as misinformation and organised anarchy spread by the opposition. Leading two major marches in two states in a single day, the party president aims to take the campaign directly to the streets and to party workers.

The first padyatra will be held in Bhagalpur, Bihar. According to a post by BJP Bihar on X, the march will begin at 11 AM from Lajpat Park and conclude at Seva Jyoti Chowk at 12.30 PM. State BJP leaders and a large number of party workers are expected to join the march through the city.

After completing his programme in Bihar, Nabin will travel to Kolkata, where he will lead the second padyatra of the day. According to a BJP press note, the Kolkata march will begin at 3 PM from College Street and conclude at Dharmatala at 5.30 PM. Senior party leaders, state BJP presidents and thousands of dedicated workers are expected to take part in the two marches.

The campaign carries the slogan Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao, meaning Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy. The BJP says the opposition is running a misleading campaign over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls and trying to mislead the public, and that the padyatras are meant to place the facts before the people and answer that propaganda.

The marches come a day after the Congress and its allies held a rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan over the electoral roll revision. The BJP has framed its campaign as a people’s movement against falsehood, deceit and anarchy, arguing that democratic institutions are functioning with full transparency while the opposition, in frustration, is raising questions about them. With the Bhagalpur and Kolkata marches, the party hopes to energise its workers, and the campaign is set to continue in other states in the coming days.
