Delhi Income Tax Sports Quota Recruitment 2026: 119 Posts Apply by November 10
The Income Tax Department Delhi Region has opened online applications for 119 posts under its Sports Quota Recruitment 2026, giving meritorious sportspersons a route into central government service without a written entrance examination. The drive is run by the Office of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax Delhi Region under notification F.No. P-342/Pr.CCIT/Sports Quota Recruitment/2026-27/10703 dated 1 October 2026. Applications opened on 17 October 2026 and the window closes on 10 November 2026 at 11:59 pm through the official portal incometaxdelhi.gov.in. The 119 vacancies are spread across three posts. Multi-Tasking Staff accounts for the largest share with 66 posts at Pay Level 1 carrying a basic pay of Rs 18,000 to Rs 56,900 per month. Tax Assistant has 44 posts at Pay Level 4 with a basic pay of Rs 25,500 to Rs 81,100 per month, and Stenographer Grade-II has 9 posts also at Pay Level 4. All three posts are in the Delhi Region, and the number of vacancies is tentative and may change as per departmental requirements. Eligibility centres on sporting achievement rather than an examination. Applicants must be meritorious sportspersons who have represented their state, university or country in recognised sports tournaments, with achievements counted from 1 January 2020 to 15 October 2026. Educational qualifications differ by post: Multi-Tasking Staff requires a Class 10 pass, Stenographer Grade-II requires Class 12 along with stenography skills, and Tax Assistant requires a degree from a recognised university. Age limits are counted as on 31 August 2026, with 18 to 27 years for Tax Assistant and Stenographer Grade-II and 18 to 25 years for Multi-Tasking Staff, subject to the usual relaxations for reserved categories. Selection will be based on sports achievements followed by document verification, and candidates are advised to read the full notification on incometaxdelhi.gov.in before applying, since the sports disciplines, achievement levels and certificate requirements are set out post-wise in the detailed advertisement. Applicants should complete the online form well before the 10 November deadline, as no applications will be accepted after the portal closes.
