Haryana sugarcane growers have until October 31 2026 to apply online for subsidised farm machinery under the Sugarcane Technology Mission for 2026-27, the state Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department has announced. Applications are submitted through the department’s official website, agriharyana.gov.in, where the detailed scheme information and guidelines are also available. The window is aimed at helping growers take up mechanisation in time for the season’s field operations.

The scheme covers machinery used at different stages of sugarcane cultivation, from land preparation and planting to crop care and harvesting. The equipment named in the department’s announcement includes power-operated sugarcane sett treatment equipment with a capacity of 30 to 120 litres, engine-operated power weeders of 5 to 7.5 brake horsepower, sugarcane ratoon management equipment and wide-row ridgers. It also includes four-foot rotavators, tractor-mounted sprayers, sub-soilers and chisellers, and sugarcane cutters, strippers and planters, along with mini tractors.

Each of these machines answers a practical need on a sugarcane farm. Sett treatment equipment helps prepare planting material before sowing, weeders and ratoon managers support the crop as it grows, and rotavators and ridgers prepare and shape the field. Sprayers allow plant protection work to be done evenly across the crop, while cutters and planters reduce the heavy manual labour involved at planting and harvest. A mini tractor can make the smaller machines usable on holdings where a large tractor is not practical.

Mechanisation matters for sugarcane because the crop is labour-intensive and several operations fall due within short windows. Timely planting, weed control and harvesting all affect the final yield, and delays caused by a shortage of workers can cost a grower part of the crop. By supporting modern equipment, the Technology Mission aims to make cultivation more convenient and productive, and to bring down the drudgery and cost of field work for farming families.

Growers who wish to apply should visit agriharyana.gov.in and read the scheme guidelines on the portal before submitting the form, since the detailed conditions, eligible equipment and procedure are given there. Applicants should keep their farm and personal details ready, fill the online form carefully, and keep a copy or receipt of the submitted application for reference. Anyone unsure about a particular machine or condition should check the department’s website or contact the local agriculture office rather than relying on forwarded messages or unofficial lists.
