The Railway Recruitment Boards have opened applications for 3548 graduate-level posts under the Non-Technical Popular Categories, or NTPC, recruitment for 2026, giving graduates across the country a chance to join Indian Railways. The recruitment is being conducted under Centralised Employment Notice CEN 06/2026, and applications are accepted online only through the portal rrbapply.gov.in.

The largest number of vacancies is for Goods Train Manager, with 2750 posts. The other posts are Senior Clerk-cum-Typist with 371 posts, Junior Accounts Assistant-cum-Typist with 300 posts and Chief Commercial-cum-Ticket Supervisor with 127 posts. Together, the four categories add up to the notified total of 3548 posts, which are placed at Pay Levels 5 and 6 of the Seventh Central Pay Commission pay matrix.

Online applications began on October 8 2026 and will close on November 6 2026 at 11:59 pm, while the last date for fee payment is November 8 2026. The application modification window is scheduled from November 9 to November 18 2026, with a fee of Rs 250 per correction. Candidates are advised not to wait until the last day, since a rush on the portal can lead to failed submissions.

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university, and the degree result must be available by November 6 2026. The prescribed age range is 18 to 33 years as on January 1 2027, with the usual age relaxations for reserved categories as given in the notification. Candidates should check the detailed notice for post-wise conditions, including any typing, aptitude or medical requirements that apply to the post they choose.

The examination fee is Rs 500 for General, Other Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Section candidates, of which Rs 400 is refunded after the candidate appears in the first computer-based test. For Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, women and ex-servicemen candidates, the fee is Rs 250, with the full amount refundable after appearing in the first-stage test.

Selection will take place in stages, beginning with a first computer-based test followed by a second computer-based test. Depending on the post, candidates will then take either a typing skill test or a computer-based aptitude test. Candidates who clear these stages will proceed to document verification and medical examination, and final selection will be subject to the conditions prescribed in the notification. Applicants should rely on the official CEN 06/2026 notice and the RRB portal for the latest instructions, vacancy details and eligibility conditions before submitting the form.
