The Haryana Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs has opened applications for 2,651 new Fair Price Shop and ration depot licences across villages and urban wards in the state. Online applications are open from 10 October 2026 to 10 November 2026 through the official SARAL Haryana portal, saralharyana.gov.in, and there is no application fee.

The licences offer a self-employment opportunity for local residents to run government-authorised public distribution outlets, supplying ration items to households in their own village or ward. Of the 2,651 licences, 335 are reserved for women candidates.

Applicants must be permanent residents of the village or municipal ward where the vacancy is declared. The age limit is 21 to 45 years as on 10 November 2026, with relaxation for reserved categories under state government rules. The minimum educational qualification is Class 12 from a recognised board, and a basic computer knowledge certificate is mandatory.

Applicants also need a valid Parivar Pehchan Patra (Family ID) and Aadhaar card, along with proof for the proposed shop premises — ownership papers or a registered rent or lease agreement — and a site map of the premises. Candidates must not have had a fair price shop licence cancelled earlier, and must not be a close blood relative of the local sarpanch or municipal councillor.

To apply, candidates should register or log in on saralharyana.gov.in, search for the service titled Issue of New Fair Price Shop (FPS) Licence, and check the vacancy status for their village or ward on the HPDS portal before filling the form. The form asks for the Parivar Pehchan Patra number, shop address and premises details, and self-attested copies of educational and computer certificates, premises proof, site plan and required affidavits.

After submission, applicants should save the application reference number for tracking. Field verification by the area inspector, document verification and departmental scrutiny follow, with the final decision resting with the licensing authority. With the deadline only days away, interested residents should complete their applications well before 10 November rather than waiting until the last day.
