UGC NET December 2026 Correction Window Closes November 4
The National Testing Agency has opened the application correction window for the UGC NET December 2026 examination, giving candidates a short final chance to fix errors in their submitted forms. The window opened on November 2, 2026, and will close on November 4, 2026, at 11:50 pm. Candidates who miss this deadline will not get another opportunity to change their details, as the agency has made it clear that no correction requests will be accepted after the window closes.
The correction facility is available only to candidates who have already submitted their application forms and completed the fee payment. Fresh registrations and new applications cannot be made through this window. According to the agency, more than 9.75 lakh candidates have completed the fee payment for this session, which will be held as a computer-based test across 87 subjects.
Candidates can log in to the official website ugcnet.nta.nic.in and open the correction section to review their forms. Only permitted fields can be changed. Among personal details, a candidate may change only one of three items — the candidate’s own name, the father’s name or the mother’s name. Mobile number, email address, uploaded photograph and signature cannot be changed through this facility, so applicants should check every other editable field carefully before submitting the corrected form.
After the correction window closes, the next milestones follow a fixed schedule. The examination city intimation slip will be available on November 23, 2026, and admit cards can be downloaded from December 7, 2026. The examination itself is scheduled for December 14 to 18 and on December 21, 2026, with the subject-wise timetable to be published separately on the official website.
UGC NET determines eligibility for appointment as Assistant Professor and for the Junior Research Fellowship, besides admission to PhD programmes. Candidates are advised to complete their corrections well before the final hours of November 4, keep a printout of the corrected form, and rely only on ugcnet.nta.nic.in for updates, since heavy traffic near the deadline can slow the portal.
