Haryana Manali Adventure Camp: 1500 Meritorious Government School Students Get Free Winter Camp
The Haryana School Shiksha Pariyojna Parishad will give 1500 meritorious students of government schools the experience of a winter adventure and nature study camp in Manali, with the state government bearing the full cost of the trip. The camp will run in five batches from 31 October to 2 December 2026, giving students from classes 9 to 12 a Himalayan experience built around adventure, learning and fitness.
Each batch will last five days, excluding the journey day, and all participants have to report at the PM Shri Government Girls Senior Secondary School in Sector 15, Panchkula, at 6 pm before departure. The first batch, running from 31 October to 4 November, carries 282 students and 18 teachers, including 116 students from Hisar, 90 from Jind and 76 from Jhajjar.
Students will be selected on the recommendation of their school head, verified by the District Project Coordinator, and parent consent along with a medical fitness certificate will be mandatory for every participant. Officials say such camps support the mental and physical development of students, combining classroom learning with real outdoor experience.
The camp schedule packs in trekking, rock climbing, rappelling and obstacle crossing, alongside sessions on Himalayan culture and heritage, flora and fauna, and local sightseeing. Campfire evenings, yoga, meditation, personality development and life-skills activities complete a programme designed to build confidence, teamwork and love for nature among Haryana’s brightest government-school students.
