📌 Last day today — 7 November 2026: fresh registration, choice filling and choice locking for the Special Stray Round close tonight at 11:59 PM. The provisional allotment result will be declared on 10 November 2026. (Schedule re-checked on uhsrugcounselling.com on 7 November — no change.)
Candidates who cleared NEET UG 2026 but have not yet secured an MBBS or BDS seat in Haryana have one last big opportunity. The Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Haryana, through Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences (UHSR), Rohtak, has released the schedule for the MBBS Special Stray Round and the 5th Round of BDS. Fresh registration, choice filling and choice locking run from 3 to 7 November 2026 (up to 11:59 PM), and the seat allotment result will come out on 10 November 2026.
This round is for the seats that remained vacant after the earlier rounds. Candidates who could not get a seat in any round so far, or who never registered at all, can take part — but only if they meet the eligibility conditions. This article gives the full schedule, eligibility, fee, documents, registration steps and the mistakes to avoid — everything based on the official notice.

What This Round Is and Why It Matters
NEET UG counselling runs in several rounds — Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, then the Stray Round. After every round some seats remain vacant — a candidate gives up a seat, someone does not pay the fee, someone does not turn up for document verification. A Stray Round is held to fill these leftover seats, and when seats still remain after that, a Special Stray Round is conducted.
In Haryana, the earlier Stray Round was held in October — registration 17–19 October, provisional allotment 21 October (revised on 22 October, 105 seats in total: 82 MBBS + 23 BDS), fee up to 11 AM on 24 October, document verification on 24 October and joining by 26 October (UHSR notices 9575 dated 16 October and 9833 dated 22 October). The same process now continues as its final stage, the Special Stray Round, which began on 3 November.
The biggest feature of this round: along with MBBS, it is also the 5th Round for BDS. So candidates seeking admission to dental (BDS) courses follow the same schedule.
Who Can Participate, Who Cannot
Can participate
- Candidates who have qualified NEET UG 2026 and are eligible for the Haryana state quota.
- Candidates who did not register in the earlier rounds — they must do fresh registration in this round.
- Candidates who are already registered — they do not need to register again, but they must fill and lock fresh choices. Old choices will not carry over to this round.
Cannot participate
- Candidates who have already been allotted a seat in Round 3 or the Stray Round of state counselling — they are not eligible for this round.
Haryana domicile condition
Haryana is a closed state — only candidates holding Haryana domicile are eligible for state quota (85%) seats. The remaining 15% seats are filled under the All India Quota (AIQ) through MCC counselling, which is not part of this round.
Seats — How Many and Where
Haryana has approximately 2,810 MBBS seats spread across 17 medical colleges — about 1,060 seats in 8 government colleges and about 1,750 seats in 9 private colleges. This is the total seat figure; how many seats are vacant in the Special Stray Round will only be known from the vacant seat matrix published on the portal. Before registering, do check the vacant seat matrix on the portal and fill choices accordingly.
Caution: admission given by any private medical or dental institute at its own level is not valid — the official notice clearly states that such admission will be treated as null and void. Only a seat allotted through the portal is valid.
Security Deposit / Fee — How Much It Costs
The security deposit payable at the time of registration depends on the type of seat:
| Category | Security deposit |
| Government / government-aided seats only | ₹10,000 |
| Reserved categories (SC / SC-Deprived / BC-A / BC-B / EWS / PwBD) — eligible Haryana candidates, for these seats only | ₹5,000 |
| Management quota seats of private medical colleges | ₹5,00,000 |
Apart from this, after a seat is allotted, the provisional tuition fee must be paid between 10 and 14 November, only through the admission web portal. The exact fee depends on the allotted college and quota — the amount written in the allotment letter is final.
How to Register — Step by Step
Step 1: Open the official portal. Open uhsrugcounselling.com in your browser. This is the only official portal for Haryana NEET UG counselling. Notices can also be seen on the DMER website dmer.haryana.gov.in and the UHSR website uhsr.ac.in.
Step 2: Do fresh registration. If you have not registered before, register afresh — enter your NEET UG 2026 roll number, application number, name, date of birth and mobile number. Candidates who are already registered should sign in with their login ID.
Step 3: Check and correct your details. If there is any mistake in the information submitted online, correct it (editing) by 7 November. Name, category, domicile and NEET score must match your documents exactly.
Step 4: Fill your choices. Fill your preferred colleges and courses (MBBS/BDS) in order of priority. First look at the seat matrix to see which colleges have vacant seats — put colleges with vacant seats at the top.
Step 5: Lock your choices. After filling choices, locking them is compulsory. Choices that are not locked will not be counted in the allotment. The last date to lock choices is 7 November 2026, 11:59 PM — no changes will be possible after that.
Step 6: Check the allotment (10 November). The provisional allotment list will appear on the portal on 10 November. If you find any error in the allotment, file a grievance the same day — after grievances are resolved, the final allotment list will also be released on 10 November.
After Allotment — What to Do Next
Pay the fee (10–14 November): pay the provisional tuition fee online through the admission web portal only, by 5 PM on 14 November. If the fee is not paid on time, the seat will be lost.
Document verification (15 November): personal appearance is mandatory before the Admission Committee at Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak, with all original documents — without it, the candidature will not be considered. The verification is reported to be held at Sushurta Auditorium, UHSR Rohtak.
Joining (by 16 November): after verification, join the allotted institute by 16 November 2026, 4 PM.
Essential Documents — Keep Ready for DV
- NEET UG 2026 admit card and score card / rank letter
- Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and certificates
- Haryana domicile / residence certificate
- Category certificate — for BCA/BCB candidates, the creamy / non-creamy layer certificate (as per Haryana Government Notification No. 40/13/2024-lSW dated 16.07.2024; only certificates issued after 01.04.2026 are valid); for EWS candidates, the income and asset certificate (Notification No. 16/10/2022-6HB-IV dated 04.10.2022; only certificates issued after 01.04.2026 are valid); for other SC/SC-Deprived candidates, the category certificate (Notification [66-2020/Ext.] dated 15.05.2020)
- Aadhaar card and other identity proof
- Passport-size photographs
- Allotment letter and fee payment receipt
Please note: the date condition on certificates is very strict — a BCA/BCB or EWS certificate issued before 1 April 2026 will not be treated as valid in this round. Do check the issue date of your certificate before DV.
Biggest Mistakes — Avoid These
1. Registering on the wrong portal: some websites give the link ug.neetrajasthan.com for Haryana NEET counselling — that is the portal of Rajasthan, not Haryana. Haryana’s only portal is uhsrugcounselling.com. Registering on the wrong portal will not create your candidature at all.
2. Forgetting to lock choices: filling choices is not enough — locking is compulsory. Choices that are not locked do not figure in the allotment.
3. Missing the fee deadline: after allotment, the fee can be paid only up to 5 PM on 14 November. If you are late, the seat will be given to the next candidate.
4. Absence at DV: personal appearance at Rohtak on 15 November is compulsory. No representative can be sent in your place.
5. Direct admission from a private college: admission given by any private institute at its own level is not valid — only a seat allotted through the portal is valid.
