The Railway Recruitment Cell, Northern Railway (RRC NR) has opened online applications for 29 posts under two separate notifications for the year 2026-27. Applications opened on 6 November 2026 and will close on 6 December 2026, and candidates must apply online through the official website, rrcnr.org. The two notifications cover the Scouts and Guides Quota, with 27 posts, and the Cultural Quota, with 2 posts, and both recruitments are for posts across Northern Railway units.

Under Employment Notice Number RRC/NR-01/2026/S&G dated 4 November 2026, the Scouts and Guides Quota recruitment covers 27 posts — 5 posts in Group ‘C’ at Level 2 of the pay matrix and 22 posts in Group ‘D’ (erstwhile) at Level 1 of the pay matrix. There is no reservation for any community in this quota. The application fee is Rs 500 for general candidates and Rs 250 for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Ex-Servicemen, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, Transgender, Women, Minorities and Economically Backward Classes categories. Candidates may apply for both levels, but they must submit a separate application and pay a separate fee for each level. Selection will be through a written test in computer-based or tablet-based mode, followed by marks for Scouts and Guides certificates and document verification. The examination and document verification will be held in Delhi.

Under Advertisement Number RRC/NR/02/2026/CQ dated 4 November 2026, the Cultural Quota recruitment covers 2 posts in Group ‘C’ at Level 2 of the pay matrix — one Drama Artist (Male/Female) for Acting and one Classical Kathak Dancer for Dance. Candidates must be between 18 and 30 years of age. The educational qualification is a Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Drama (Acting) or Classical Kathak Dance from a government-recognised institute, along with Class 12 with 50 per cent marks, or Matriculation with a completed Course Completed Act Apprenticeship or ITI approved by the National Council for Vocational Training or the State Council for Vocational Training. The application fee is Rs 500, of which Rs 400 will be refunded to candidates who actually appear in the written examination, except for the exempted categories. Selection will be through a written test, a practical demonstration or talent test, and document verification, and the written examination and talent assessment are expected in January 2027. Candidates must bring their own musical instrument or cultural uniform for the practical demonstration, and no relaxation in the educational and cultural qualifications is permissible.

Candidates applying under either quota should read the full official notification on rrcnr.org before applying, since the notifications carry the complete eligibility conditions, including the prescribed Scouts and Guides qualifications and certificates for the Scouts and Guides Quota. Applications must be submitted online only — no hard copy is required at the application stage — and the fee must be paid online. Candidates should apply well before 6 December 2026 and keep their certificates, identity proof and other documents ready, since the date, time and venue of the written test and practical demonstration will be displayed on the Railway Recruitment Cell, Northern Railway website.
