The Madhya Pradesh government has launched a fresh selection drive for 3062 ASHA workers in rural areas of the state, the first such large-scale ASHA selection in nearly five years. The drive aims to strengthen healthcare services in villages, where ASHA workers are the first point of contact between families and the public health system. Detailed instructions have been issued to all districts to ensure the selection is transparent and completed within a fixed timeline.

Eligible women can submit their applications online through the MP e-Seva portal, eseva.mp.gov.in, between 16 November and 16 December 2026. Only applications submitted through the online portal will be considered valid, so applicants should use the portal route and keep their acknowledgement safe. The entire selection process is scheduled for completion by March 2027, giving districts a clear deadline to finish the exercise.

The selection will be conducted at the district level under the supervision of the District Health Committee, chaired by the District Collector of each district. Selection is restricted to the villages identified for recruitment, and the number of positions allocated to each village is fixed in advance, so applicants should apply for the ASHA position in their own village as per the district’s village-wise list. District-level conduct is meant to keep the process close to the community the ASHA worker will serve.

ASHA workers are women health volunteers who work at village level, supporting maternal and child health, immunisation, institutional deliveries and basic health awareness in their communities. Because the role is rooted in the village itself, the selection gives weight to local residence and community acceptance, and the district instructions spell out the eligibility conditions village by village. Applicants should read the instructions for their district carefully rather than assuming a single state-wide eligibility rule.

For women in rural Madhya Pradesh looking for community health work close to home, this is the first major ASHA opening in five years, with more than three thousand village-level positions on offer. Interested applicants should watch for their district’s village-wise vacancy list, apply only through eseva.mp.gov.in between 16 November and 16 December 2026, and confirm every eligibility detail from the district instructions before submitting the form.
