Indian Bank, a public sector bank, has opened 1,500 apprentice training seats for the financial year 2026-27. Online registration will run from 5 November to 25 November 2026, giving graduates across the country a three-week window to apply. The drive is a national apprenticeship opportunity, with seats distributed state by state under the official notification.

Candidates must first complete a profile on the NATS 2.0 portal, at nats.education.gov.in, and then submit their online application through the bank portal, indianbank.bank.in. Registration, editing or modification of the application, and payment of the fee all close on 25 November 2026, so applicants should not leave the process to the final hours. Checking the official notification before applying is essential, because it carries the full state-wise and category-wise split of seats.

The state-wise allocation includes some of the largest shares for Uttar Pradesh, with 285 seats, followed by Madhya Pradesh with 65 seats and Rajasthan with 40 seats. The remaining seats are spread across other states and union territories, as set out in the notification. This spread means the programme is open to graduates in many parts of the country, rather than being limited to a single region, although candidates should apply for the state they are eligible for and check any local conditions in the notification.

Applicants need a degree in any stream to be eligible for the apprenticeship. The engagement will last for 12 months, and apprentices will receive a monthly stipend during the training period. It is important to understand the nature of the role: this is a trainee apprenticeship, not a regular bank job, and it does not by itself lead to permanent employment in the bank. For many graduates, however, a year inside a public sector bank offers practical experience in branch operations, customer service and banking systems that can strengthen a future career in finance.

Interested candidates should therefore start with the NATS 2.0 profile, gather their degree and identity documents in advance, and then complete the bank application carefully within the window. Any mismatch in details, or a missed fee deadline, could cost an applicant the chance to be considered. With 1,500 seats on offer and a clear closing date of 25 November 2026, early and accurate applications give graduates the best chance of securing a place in this national apprenticeship drive.

Before submitting, candidates should keep their degree certificate, identity proof and a recent photograph ready, and double-check every entry against their NATS 2.0 profile. A careful application, filed well before the 25 November deadline, avoids last-minute portal pressure and gives the applicant a clean, complete record for the selection process that follows.
