The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC), Prayagraj, has opened online applications for 501 Review Officer and Assistant Review Officer posts under Advertisement No. A-4/E-1/2026. The Samiksha Adhikari (Review Officer) and Sahayak Samiksha Adhikari (Assistant Review Officer) Etc. Examination 2026 covers both general and special recruitment, and applications can be submitted from 26 October to 26 November 2026 through the commission’s official website, uppsc.up.nic.in. Candidates interested in secretariat and government office work in Uttar Pradesh should apply within this window, because late applications are not accepted after the portal closes.

The total of 501 posts includes 495 general posts and 6 special posts, although the vacancy count may increase or decrease as departments send their requisitions. The indicative split covers Review Officer and Assistant Review Officer posts, along with other related roles such as accounts, manager, caretaker, receptionist and store keeper posts in state government departments and secretariat offices. Because the posts are spread across different offices, candidates should read the detailed notification to see which posts match their qualification and preference before choosing their options in the form.

One Time Registration (OTR) is compulsory before applying. Candidates must first complete OTR on the UPPSC website, then fill the application form, upload the required documents and pay the fee within the application window. A correction and fee reconciliation window will remain open until 3 December 2026, giving candidates a chance to fix errors and settle fee issues after submission. The age limit is broadly 21 to 40 years as on 1 July 2026, with relaxations as per rules for reserved categories. The minimum qualification is generally a bachelor’s degree, while some Assistant Review Officer posts also require typing and computer qualifications, so post-specific requirements must be checked in the notification rather than assumed.

Review officers and assistant review officers handle files, noting and drafting in government offices, and they play a central role in keeping official work moving. They examine incoming papers, prepare notes, draft letters and orders, and maintain records that senior officers rely on for decisions. That is why these secretariat posts are sought after: they offer regular government service, a clear promotion path and work at the heart of administration in Lucknow and other government offices. The preliminary and main examination dates will be announced separately by UPPSC, so candidates should keep their registration number and application copy safe and check the commission’s website regularly for the exam schedule, admit card and syllabus updates.

While preparing, candidates should focus on the subjects covered in the preliminary examination, practise previous years’ papers and improve their speed and accuracy, especially in general studies and Hindi. Those applying for posts with a typing requirement should also practise regularly, because a small difference in typing speed can matter in the final selection. With 501 posts on offer and a single application window, this is one of the most important Uttar Pradesh recruitments of the year for graduates looking for a stable government career.
