UP UPSSSC JE Mechanical Recruitment 2026: 1156 Posts, Apply from November 3 to 25
The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission has opened online applications for 1156 Junior Engineer (Mechanical) and other technical posts across various departments of the Uttar Pradesh government. The recruitment is being conducted under Advertisement No. 24-Exam/2026 for the Combined Junior Engineer (Mechanical) Main Examination, based on UPSSSC PET-2025. Candidates can apply online from 3 November to 25 November 2026 through the official website, upsssc.gov.in. The notification for this recruitment was released on 12 October 2026.
The most important eligibility condition is that only candidates who appeared in the UPSSSC Preliminary Eligibility Test 2025 and hold a valid PET-2025 scorecard with positive normalised marks can apply. In addition, candidates must hold a three-year diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering or a recognised allied discipline, as per the post-wise requirements in the notification. The reported general age range for the recruitment is 18 to 40 years, subject to the requirements of the particular post and the age-calculation date prescribed in the notification.
The 1156 vacancies are spread across eight post categories in different state government departments. The largest groups are Junior Engineer (Mechanical) with 722 posts, Mechanic with 270 posts, and Assistant Storekeeper with 128 posts, along with smaller numbers for Assistant District Panchayat Raj Officer (Technical), Technical Assistant (Mechanical) and Instructor Machine posts. The departments covered include Irrigation and Water Resources, Public Works Department, Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation, Ground Water Department, Panchayati Raj Department and Prison Administration and Reform Services. Most posts carry Pay Level-6, from Rs 35,400 to Rs 1,12,400 per month.
The application processing fee is only Rs 25 for all categories. Candidates must authenticate themselves using their PET-2025 registration details on the UPSSSC portal, open Advertisement No. 24-Exam/2026 under live advertisements, fill the form, and submit it along with the fee before 25 November 2026. Applications and fee payments will not be accepted after that date. A correction window will remain open until 2 December 2026 for candidates who need to amend their submitted forms.
This recruitment is separate from the general UPSSSC Junior Engineer recruitment and is specifically for mechanical and allied technical posts, so candidates should check the post-wise vacancy and qualification details in the official notification before choosing their posts. Applicants are advised to apply only through upsssc.gov.in, keep a copy of the submitted form and fee receipt, and regularly check the commission’s website for updates on the examination schedule and admit cards. Candidates who do not hold a PET-2025 scorecard cannot apply for this examination, even if they hold the required diploma.
