Haryana CM Saini Attends Kashyap Rajput Mahila Sabha Event in Moga Highlights Shared Punjab Haryana Culture
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday attended the Kashyap Rajput Mahila Sabha gathering at Dharmkot in Moga district of Punjab, underlining the cultural kinship that has long bound the two neighbouring states. He interacted with women members of the gathering and other attendees at the event.
Posting after the event, Saini said Punjab and Haryana are identified by their shared culture, service and goodwill. He paid tribute to Maharishi Kashyap, regarded in Hindu tradition as the progenitor of the Kashyap community.
The Kashyap Rajput Mahila Sabha is the women’s wing of a community historically associated with agriculture, administration and defence services across the Punjab-Haryana belt. Dharmkot, in southwest Punjab, sits in the heartland of this cross-border cultural geography.
Saini took office as Haryana Chief Minister in March 2024, succeeding Manohar Lal Khattar. His visit to Moga on Saturday was presented as a celebration of the shared heritage of the two states rather than a policy announcement.
The gathering brought together community members for a samagam, a community event organised by the Sabha for members across the Punjab-Haryana region, with an emphasis on service, goodwill and shared traditions.
