Haryana CM Saini on Unity Day Says Over 2 Lakh Youth Got Government Jobs Without Bribe or Recommendation
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday said more than two lakh young people in the state have secured government jobs without paying a bribe or carrying a recommendation. He made the claim at the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, or National Unity Day, ceremony at the Haryana Civil Secretariat in Chandigarh, marking the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
At the ceremony, the Chief Minister offered floral tributes to Patel and administered the national unity pledge to officers and employees. He said Patel’s role in uniting hundreds of princely states laid the foundation for an integrated India, and that his commitment to unity and integrity remains an inspiration for the country.
Saini said his government has worked to end the culture of favouritism in recruitment and is committed to transparent governance and public services. He said the next major responsibility for the country is to achieve the goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047, and that Haryana must take a leading role in that effort.
He also invoked the spirit of Haryana Ek and Haryanvi Ek, urging people to stand by national unity, integrity and development. Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi also spoke at the ceremony, highlighting the challenges India faced in maintaining unity and administering the country after Independence.
National Unity Day has been observed every year on 31 October since 2014 to mark Patel’s birth anniversary and to reaffirm the country’s commitment to unity, integrity and security. Patel, born on 31 October 1875, served as India’s first Home Minister after Independence and is remembered as the Iron Man of India.
