Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated Bharat Parv 2026 at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat, opening a national cultural and arts festival that will run from 1 to 15 November 2026. The festival is being held at the Statue of Unity campus in Ekta Nagar, in Narmada district, and brings together the crafts, cuisine and heritage of states and Union Territories from across the country.

During his visit to Ekta Nagar, the Prime Minister also attended the Ekta Prakash Parv, an illumination festival depicting the cultural traditions of the country’s four regions, and the Narmada Aarti in the evening. The festival’s pavilions showcase regional folk performances, handicrafts and tourism offerings, giving visitors a glimpse of India’s diversity in one place.

Bharat Parv follows the National Unity Day celebrations at Ekta Nagar on 31 October, marking the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The Prime Minister had invited citizens from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Kutch to Kamakhya to take part in the Unity Day events, pay tributes to Patel and strengthen their commitment to one India.

The Prime Minister said that 31 October has become a festival of the spirit of nationalism in every corner of the country. He described the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort, the Republic Day Parade on Kartavya Path and the Ekta Diwas celebrations under the Statue of Unity as a trinity of national upsurge, celebrating the unity that Patel forged after Independence.

For visitors, Ekta Nagar is now both a tribute to Patel and a living cultural destination. The Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue, stands as a symbol of national unity, and Bharat Parv adds to it a fortnight of music, dance, food and craft from every part of India. The festival runs until 15 November, inviting families and tourists to experience the country’s traditions at the foot of the statue.
