Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Urges Public Representatives to Rise Above Differences for State Development
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has called on elected representatives to set aside political and ideological differences and work together for the development of Haryana and its people.
Addressing the inaugural session of the Janpratinidhi Sammelan at Panchkula, organised by the Haryana Vidhan Sabha as part of the Samvidhan Pakhwada programme, the Chief Minister said that, although representatives may follow different political ideologies, the progress of the state remains their shared goal.
He said all elected representatives share a common responsibility towards the people, irrespective of their political affiliation. In his view, understanding the aspirations and needs of citizens is central to that responsibility, and representatives should contribute actively to the state’s development.
Saini also stressed accountability, constructive debate and respect for constitutional values as essential to strengthening democracy. He underlined the importance of maintaining the dignity of the House, noting that differences of opinion are natural in a democracy but should not stand in the way of collective work for the public good. The Vidhan Sabha, he said, is not only a forum for legislation but also an important institution for democratic dialogue and public service.
A gathering of this kind matters because it brings representatives together beyond day-to-day political contest. It creates space for discussion of development priorities, for a clearer understanding of constitutional duties, and for building public trust in democratic institutions. When representatives listen to one another and to the people they serve, decisions are more likely to reflect the needs of communities across the state.
The Chief Minister also linked the discussion to the wider goal of a developed Haryana, saying that public participation is crucial to that effort. He called for constitutional awareness to reach beyond conference halls and into public life, so that citizens understand both their rights and their responsibilities.
The sammelan took place as Haryana marked 60 years since its formation, a milestone that offers an occasion to reflect on how far the state has come and on the work still ahead. Saini’s message was, in essence, a call for unity of purpose: representatives may differ in politics, but they should remain united in their commitment to Haryana’s people and its future.
