Haryana Paddy Procurement: 30.69 Lakh Tonnes Bought So Far and Rs 4263 Crore Paid to Farmers
Haryana’s paddy procurement for the Kharif Marketing Season 2026-27 is moving ahead steadily, with 30.69 lakh metric tonnes procured out of 37.27 lakh metric tonnes that had arrived in the state’s mandis up to 8 am on October 26, Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Rajesh Nagar has said. That means about 82 per cent of the paddy that arrived had already been procured. Against the procurement target of 58 lakh metric tonnes set by the Government of India, about 53 per cent of the target had been achieved by that date. Daily arrivals stood at about 1.01 lakh metric tonnes, while daily procurement was recorded at about 0.36 lakh metric tonnes, showing that mandi operations were continuing across the state. Lifting of procured paddy is also under way, with 23.34 lakh metric tonnes lifted so far, accounting for about 76 per cent of the total procurement. Around 1.38 lakh metric tonnes were lifted in a single day. The minister stressed that timely lifting from mandis is essential so that there is enough space for fresh arrivals and farmers bringing their produce face no inconvenience. Payments to farmers under the Minimum Support Price system have reached about Rs 4,263.76 crore. Of this, the Food and Civil Supplies Department paid about Rs 2,375.62 crore, HAFED paid about Rs 1,329.76 crore and the Haryana State Warehousing Corporation paid about Rs 558.38 crore. In all, 2,22,154 farmers had benefited from the procurement process by October 26, while private traders had procured 38,770 metric tonnes. The minister said the state government is committed to smooth, transparent and timely procurement, and has directed officials to monitor mandi facilities regularly, review lifting in districts where it is slower, and resolve farmers’ grievances within the stipulated time so that no farmer faces difficulty in selling the crop at a fair price.
