BJP Uttar Pradesh Padyatra November 3 to 5: Nabin Yogi Nadda Lead Save Democracy Marches in Six Regions
The Bharatiya Janata Party will hold foot marches across all six of its organisational regions in Uttar Pradesh from 3 to 5 November 2026, under its ‘Save Democracy, End Anarchy’ campaign, as it steps up its campaign ahead of the 2027 state assembly elections. Senior national and state leaders will lead the marches in turn, taking the party’s message directly to workers and voters in six major cities.
The programme opens on 3 November with two marches. Union minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will lead the Awadh region march in Lucknow, while Union minister JP Nadda will lead the Braj region march in Bareilly. The following day, 4 November, BJP national president Nitin Nabin will lead the Gorakhpur region march in Gorakhpur, and Uttar Pradesh deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya will lead the Kashi region march in Prayagraj.
The series closes on 5 November with Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath leading the western region march in Ghaziabad. Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak will lead the Kanpur-Bundelkhand region march in Kanpur as part of the same series. The party has planned the six marches so that every organisational region of the state is covered within three days.
The campaign is framed by the BJP as a direct response to the opposition’s mobilisation over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls and its criticism of the Election Commission. Party leaders say the marches will counter what they describe as misinformation about the revision exercise and present the party’s case on constitutional values and democratic institutions to the public. The marches follow the INDIA bloc’s rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on 1 November, which the BJP has strongly criticised.
Each march is expected to draw around 25,000 party workers, with the party also aiming to involve members of civil society, including professionals and community representatives. State general secretary (organisation) Dharampal Singh, who unveiled the campaign plan at the party’s Lucknow headquarters, said the marches would carry the message of saving democracy and defeating anarchy to villages and towns across the state.
The padyatra series forms part of a wider election build-up in Uttar Pradesh, where the BJP is seeking a third consecutive term in 2027. Alongside the marches, the party has planned public meetings, voter enrolment drives and outreach programmes aimed at young voters, women, farmers and beneficiaries of government welfare schemes, with further visits by senior central leaders to be scheduled in the coming weeks.
