Haryana CM Saini at Balachaur Youth Rally Says BJP Will Form Punjab Government in February 2027
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday took the Bharatiya Janata Party’s 2027 campaign into Punjab’s Doaba region, telling a youth rally at Bagowal village in the Balachaur assembly segment of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district that the party will form the state government in February 2027. Addressing the gathering on 31 October, Saini said the people of Punjab now believe a government will be formed under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership in February next year, when Punjab votes for a new assembly.
Local leader Ravi Inder Singh Balachaur joined the BJP along with his supporters at the rally. Saini welcomed the new entrants and promised them full respect and recognition in the party, saying their move reflected the growing hope people in Punjab had in the BJP.
Saini directed his sharpest remarks at the ruling Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress, accusing both of failing Punjab on drugs. He said the Congress had promised to wipe out drugs and was voted out after failing, while the AAP had promised to end the drug menace and to give jobs to 25 lakh young people, and had delivered on neither. According to Saini, the AAP government had run for five years on false promises, and drugs were destroying families and holding back the state’s development.
The Chief Minister pitched the BJP’s anti-drug yatra in Punjab as a campaign that had won strong public support, and praised the party’s drive to draw rural youth into sports and to repair village stadiums. He said the party would give every village a playground, arguing that sports build patriotism and leadership and keep young people away from drugs, and he asked the crowd to take a pledge to stay drug-free.
Saini also held up Haryana’s record to Punjab voters, saying development works worth crores had reached every village in Haryana, farmers there had received Rs 16,500 crore in crop-loss compensation over 12 years, and women were getting Rs 2,100 a month under the Lado Lakshmi scheme. A double-engine government in Punjab, he said, would work at twice the pace. On illegal migration, a sensitive issue in Doaba, he said no young person should be forced by circumstances to leave home or take the risky dunki route, and good colleges, skill centres, industry and modern farming should let young people build their future in their own villages. He closed by paying tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary, observed as National Unity Day, crediting Patel with bringing nearly 560 princely states together to unite India.
