Haryana Run for Unity on October 31: CM Saini to Lead Panchkula Run as All Districts Join In
Haryana will take to the streets on October 31 to mark National Unity Day, with Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini leading the state’s main Run for Unity in Panchkula. The event is part of a statewide programme that will see similar runs held at every district headquarters on the same morning, carrying the message that the entire state runs together. The Panchkula run will begin at 6:30 am from the Shivalik Country Club in the Mata Mansa Devi Complex. Runs at district headquarters across Haryana will be held between 6:30 am and 8 am, giving residents in every district a chance to join the observance close to home. National Unity Day is observed on October 31, the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and the runs are intended to promote national unity, integrity and brotherhood. The statewide format underlines that message: rather than a single-city event, Haryana is organising the run simultaneously across all its districts. Police and district administrations have been making arrangements for the events, including security and traffic management for the large gatherings expected at the venues. The Panchkula run, as the flagship event led by the Chief Minister, is expected to draw a large turnout of residents, students and officials. The October 31 programme adds to a busy Haryana Day week in the state. Haryana Day itself falls on November 1, marking the anniversary of the state’s formation, and the Unity Run on the eve of that day sets the tone for the celebrations that follow.
