Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has set an ambitious five-year economic target for the state: attracting Rs 5 lakh crore in fresh investment and creating 10 lakh employment opportunities.

In a message shared on X on Thursday, 29 October, Saini said the goal is to bring Rs 5 lakh crore of new investment to Haryana over the next five years and to generate 10 lakh jobs in the process. The declaration sets out, in a single sharp statement, the scale of the industrial and employment push the state government is aiming for.

Saini said sustained investment will play a crucial role in strengthening Haryana’s industrial ecosystem, promoting innovation and driving inclusive economic growth across the state. The government, he said, is focused on creating a business-friendly environment by improving infrastructure, streamlining administrative processes and encouraging both domestic and global investors to establish operations in Haryana.

Haryana starts from a position of strength for such an ambition. Sharing borders with the National Capital Region has made the state a natural magnet for automobile manufacturing, agro-processing and IT services clusters, giving the new target a credible industrial base to build on. The state has also long used structured incentives around land, power and tax relief to pull capital into manufacturing and services.

The proposed investments are expected to generate large-scale employment across multiple sectors, contributing to higher incomes, industrial expansion and the state’s long-term development. Officials say the focus is on broad-based growth that reaches beyond a few big projects, so that jobs and incomes rise across the state.

The target also reinforces Haryana’s pitch as a leading investment destination in India, positioning the state in direct competition with neighbouring states for the next wave of manufacturing and services investment.
