UP PET 2026: 66.75 Percent Candidates Appear on Second Day Final Phase on November 1
Uttar Pradesh’s Preliminary Eligibility Test, PET 2026, continued smoothly on its second day, with more than two-thirds of the allotted candidates turning up for the examination. The test is conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission and serves as a qualifying examination for Group B and Group C government posts in the state.
On the second day, the examination was held in two shifts across 60 districts of Uttar Pradesh. A total of 11,80,434 candidates had been allotted centres for the day, and 7,87,964 of them appeared for the test, giving an attendance figure of 66.75 percent. The examination was conducted in an orderly manner with technology-based monitoring at the centres.
PET 2026 is being held on three days: 25 October, 30 October and 1 November. Across all three days, admit cards have been issued to 35,41,297 candidates, and 1,372 examination centres have been set up in 60 districts. Each day’s examination runs in two shifts, from 10 am to 12 noon and from 3 pm to 5 pm.
PET is an important gateway examination for government jobs in Uttar Pradesh, since a valid PET score is required to apply for many subordinate services posts. The large turnout reflects the scale of competition for these posts and the importance candidates attach to the qualifying test.
The final phase of the examination will be held on 1 November 2026. Candidates appearing on that day should download their admit cards in advance from upsssc.gov.in, check their centre, shift and reporting time carefully, and reach the centre well ahead of the scheduled start. Further updates on the examination will be published on the commission’s official website.
