Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit and Expo (BRESE) 2026 on November 2 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, as India seeks to mobilise around USD 220 billion in clean energy investment by 2030. The four-day summit, organised by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, will run from November 2 to 5 and bring together participants from more than 130 countries, including policymakers, investors, manufacturers and industry leaders. It will be held alongside the ninth session of the International Solar Alliance Assembly and the fourth International Conference on Green Hydrogen. The summit is themed ‘Invest. Innovate. Inspire.’ and will focus on renewable energy financing, energy storage, green hydrogen, domestic manufacturing and technology development. Australia, Denmark, the European Union, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom will participate as country partners, while 13 Indian states will take part as partner states. India has already installed 308 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity and is working towards its target of 500 GW by 2030, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy Secretary Santosh Sarangi said. He said realising this ambition would require approximately USD 220 billion in investment between 2027 and 2030, alongside accelerated deployment of energy storage, stronger transmission networks and expanded domestic manufacturing. More than 400 manufacturers, developers, technology providers, start-ups and research institutions will showcase emerging renewable energy technologies at the accompanying exhibition. The summit will feature high-level plenaries, ministerial discussions and CEO roundtables, along with business-to-business and business-to-government engagements aimed at turning investment potential into projects and partnerships. India ranks third globally in renewable energy and solar installed capacity and fourth in wind power capacity, and the summit is intended to underline that position while charting the funding roadmap for the next phase of the clean energy transition.
