Haryana BJP Rohtak Padayatra on November 1: Nitin Nabin and CM Saini to Join Haryana Day March
BJP national president Nitin Nabin will join the party’s ‘Save Democracy, End Anarchy’ padayatra in Rohtak on November 1, coinciding with Haryana Day, in a show of organisational strength by the ruling party in the state. The march, rescheduled from October 31, will also be attended by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and state BJP president Dr Archana Gupta. Preparations were reviewed at a meeting of party office-bearers at the district party office, Mangal-Kamal, in Rohtak on Wednesday evening, focusing on worker mobilisation, coordination and logistics. Gupta said the campaign seeks to highlight democratic values, political accountability and public welfare. She added that Nabin’s participation would boost the morale of party workers and strengthen the party’s organisational outreach across Haryana. The campaign is not limited to Rohtak. Similar padayatras are being organised in other Lok Sabha constituencies across the state. Former Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan will take part in the Faridabad constituency march on November 1, while Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will join the padayatra in Karnal on November 5. On the same day, Shah will inaugurate the Martyrs’ Memorial in Ambala Cantonment before addressing a public meeting at Gandhi Maidan. The memorial honours the contributions and sacrifices of those who fought in the First War of Independence in 1857. The Rohtak march on Haryana Day is being seen as an important leg of the BJP’s month-long counter-campaign, with the national president, the chief minister and the state president walking together. For the party, the event is both a mobilisation exercise and a message of unity, as it takes its campaign directly to the streets of what is regarded as Haryana’s political capital.
